Bhoomi Pujan Muhurat 2026: November and December Dates
From 1 November to 31 December 2026, New Delhi has 12 days with a bhoomi pujan muhurat in the calendar view — the books' main rules for laying a foundation — and none in the strict view of the books. Neither view checks the lagna. The strict view leaves out 12 of them: Simhastha Guru closes 12, Shripati's months 9, Panchaka 3 and the sankranti rule 1 (a day can fall under two rules). The personal muhurat also reads the way your plot faces and the school your family follows.

All 12 dates in November and December 2026 at a glance
The calendar view's dates month by month, and what the strict view does with them. The cards below give the times.

December: 3, 4, 5, 12, 14 and 16 (6 days); the strict view keeps none
The calendar view ranks 10 days in this range "Very good", here with the star of the best window: Wednesday 11 Nov (Anuradha); Friday 20 Nov (Uttara Bhadrapada); Saturday 21 Nov (Revati); Wednesday 25 Nov (Rohini); Thursday 26 Nov (Mrigashira); Thursday 3 Dec (Uttara Phalguni); Friday 4 Dec (Chitra); Saturday 12 Dec (Uttara Ashadha); Monday 14 Dec (Dhanishtha); Wednesday 16 Dec (Shatabhisha). By weekday: 1 on a Monday, 3 on a Wednesday, 2 on a Thursday, 2 on a Friday and 4 on a Saturday; by fortnight, 6 in the bright half and 6 in the dark half (by the tithi of the first window).
Each date with its weekday and the star and tithi of its first window: Wednesday 11 Nov (Anuradha, Shukla Dwitiya); Friday 20 Nov (Uttara Bhadrapada, Shukla Ekadashi); Saturday 21 Nov (Revati, Shukla Dwadashi); Wednesday 25 Nov (Rohini, Krishna Dwitiya); Thursday 26 Nov (Mrigashira, Krishna Dwitiya); Saturday 28 Nov (Pushya, Krishna Panchami); Thursday 3 Dec (Uttara Phalguni, Krishna Dashami); Friday 4 Dec (Chitra, Krishna Ekadashi); Saturday 5 Dec (Chitra, Krishna Dwadashi); Saturday 12 Dec (Uttara Ashadha, Shukla Tritiya); Monday 14 Dec (Dhanishtha, Shukla Panchami); Wednesday 16 Dec (Shatabhisha, Shukla Saptami).
Two views, two lists
The books give main rules and further cautions for laying a foundation, so this page gives two lists. The calendar view follows the books' main rules for laying a foundation. The strict view starts from the same windows and also applies Simhastha and Makara Guru (by region), the 7 days on either side of Venus' or Jupiter's combustion, only Shripati's pairs of the Sun's sign and the month, no Panchaka and 16 ghatis (6 h 24 min) on either side of each sankranti. A strict window always lies inside a calendar window, so the strict list is a shorter version of the same list, never a different one.
The biggest difference is Simhastha Guru, Jupiter in Leo: Muhurta Chintamani puts laying a foundation on the list of acts kept away from it, and many calendars do not apply it. Jupiter is in Magha or the first pada of Purva Phalguni from 31 Oct 2026, 12:02 to 25 Jan 2027, 01:31 IST, which the books rule out in every region. The Simhastha Guru guide explains the rule and its regions, and Kharmas 2026–27 the two months of the Sun in Dhanu and Meena.
Which list to follow is a family matter. If your family keeps the books strictly, use the strict view; if it keeps their main rules, use the calendar view. Why muhurat dates differ lists the other reasons two calendars disagree.
The almanac this site checks its calendar views against publishes no year list for laying a foundation, so both views apply the rules of Muhurta Chintamani's Vastu prakarana and the authorities it quotes directly.
Bhoomi pujan dates in November and December 2026, month by month
Each date shows its muhurat windows in IST for New Delhi, the nakshatra and tithi in them, and a strength word. A card says when the strict view shortens or closes the day; where it says nothing, both views agree. Choose a view to see one list at a time.
Every listed day passes the rules. "Very good", "Good" and "Usable" are a rough order from classical factors (such as the star, the weekday, the bright half) — not a probability or a promise.

Closed periods for laying a foundation in 2026
These stretches rule out laying a foundation at New Delhi, computed from the ephemeris to the minute (IST). "Both views" means every list on this page leaves them out; "Strict view" means only the strict list does. A period that began before this range is shown from its real start.
Venus newly risen (balya) Strict view
29 Oct 2026, 09:39 – 5 Nov 2026, 09:39
The 7 days after the planet rises again (balya — Dharma Sindhu's middle view): the strict view only.
Simhastha Guru: Jupiter in Magha or the first pada of Purva Phalguni Strict view
31 Oct 2026, 12:02 – 25 Jan 2027, 01:31
Jupiter in Magha or the first pada of Purva Phalguni: the strict view rules out laying a foundation in every region, except while the Sun is in Mesha (Muhurta Chintamani, Shubhashubha prakarana, with Dharma Sindhu).
The Sun in Dhanu (Sagittarius) Both views
from 16 Dec 2026, 10:25 to 14 Jan 2027, 21:10
Narada, quoted in Muhurta Chintamani's Vastu prakarana, leaves the Sun in Mithuna, Kanya, Dhanu or Meena out for starting a house.
Sankrantis: the Sun's entry into each sign
The strict view avoids 16 ghatis (6 h 24 min) on either side of the moment the Sun enters a sign (B.V. Raman, Muhurtha). The sankrantis of this range at New Delhi, in IST:
Vrishchika (Scorpio): the Sun enters at 16 Nov 2026, 19:43; avoided 16 Nov 2026, 13:19 – 17 Nov 2026, 02:07
Dhanu (Sagittarius): the Sun enters at 16 Dec 2026, 10:25; avoided 16 Dec 2026, 04:01–16:49
Neither list rules out laying a foundation for these periods at New Delhi. Kharmas is closed here by Narada's Sun signs (Dhanu and Meena) rather than as Kharmas; Chaturmas is not a rule for building in these books (many families wait by custom); Holashtak is kept by Muhurta Chintamani only on the Beas, the Ravi and the Sutlej and at Pushkar. If your family keeps any of them, skip those dates (IST):
Chaturmas: 24 Jul 2026, 09:13 – 21 Nov 2026, 06:31 — this list keeps 2 days in it: 11 and 20 November
How these dates are chosen
The 12 days on this page follow the rules of the full Bhoomi Pujan Muhurat 2027 list, which sets out each rule with its source: how the 2027 bhoomi pujan dates are chosen.
In November and December 2026 at New Delhi, the windows fall in Chitra (2 days), Rohini (1 day), Mrigashira (1 day), Pushya (1 day), Uttara Phalguni (1 day), Swati (1 day), Anuradha (1 day), Uttara Ashadha (1 day), Dhanishtha (1 day), Shatabhisha (1 day), Uttara Bhadrapada (1 day) and Revati (1 day).
In short, for laying a foundation (bhoomi pujan): a fixed or soft star or Shatabhisha, Swati, Dhanishtha, Hasta or Pushya, the lunar months Margashirsha, Phalguna, Vaishakha, Magha, Shravana or Kartika with the Sun not in Mithuna, Kanya, Dhanu or Meena (Narada, quoted in Muhurta Chintamani's Vastu prakarana), only Dwitiya, Tritiya, Panchami, Shashthi, Saptami, Dashami, Ekadashi, Dwadashi or Trayodashi of either half, or Purnima, and never a Sunday or Tuesday; no Bhadra; no Vyatipata or Vaidhriti and the opening ghatis of the other bad yogas cut; the gandanta quarters and Rahu Kalam, Yamaganda and Gulika cut out; at least one ghati (24 minutes) left. Never on the day of an eclipse (Garga, quoted in Muhurta Chintamani's Samskara prakarana: no auspicious act then, even at its due time). An eclipse counts wherever on Earth it is seen.
What the strict view adds
For laying a foundation, the strict view adds Simhastha and Makara Guru (by region), the 7 days on either side of Venus' or Jupiter's combustion, only Shripati's pairs of the Sun's sign and the month, no Panchaka and 16 ghatis (6 h 24 min) on either side of each sankranti — each set out on the Bhoomi Pujan Muhurat 2027 page.
What these lists leave to you
These lists do not check the lagna, or your own stars; the Bhoomi Pujan Muhurat 2027 page lists what is left to you.
For your city or your own dates
A nakshatra or tithi changes at the same moment everywhere, but each place has its own sunrise, sunset and Rahu Kalam, so another city's windows start and end a few minutes apart, and a day near a change can drop out or come in. The muhurat finder computes both views of the bhoomi pujan list for your city and your own dates, up to three months at a time, and its results offer the personal check below. Start from a month:
A personal muhurat from the kundli
A list for everyone cannot check your own stars. Muhurta Chintamani's Gochara prakarana adds two personal checks: Tara Bala, the day's nakshatra counted from the birth nakshatra, and Chandra Bala, the Moon's sign counted from the birth Moon sign. A day that is good in general can be weak for one person.
The personal bhoomi pujan muhurat reads your saved kundli: each day's Tara Bala and Chandra Bala, the lagna times that fit the act inside each window, the months for the way your plot faces and the school your family follows, a Muhurat Patra (PDF) and reminders. 101 coins for the event: before you pay you see how many days are open before your chart is checked, and if none passes your chart, nothing is charged. Or 50 coins to check one date, charged for its answer, whether the date passes or not.
Or ask the AI astrologer about one date from this list: it reads the day for the place saved in your kundli and names the rule behind its answer.
Sign in, then choose your kundli and the city.

Type the date and the event. Sign in on the next screen and add the birth details once — the question will be waiting in your chat.
How many bhoomi pujan muhurat days are there in November and December 2026?
At New Delhi, 12 days in the calendar view and none in the strict view. Each date on this page shows its windows in IST.
Which months are good for bhoomi pujan in November and December 2026?
Narada, quoted in Muhurta Chintamani's Vastu prakarana, gives the lunar months Margashirsha, Phalguna, Vaishakha, Magha, Shravana or Kartika, and leaves out the Sun in Mithuna, Kanya, Dhanu or Meena. In this range at New Delhi: Kartika (10 Nov – 8 Dec) and Margashirsha (9 Dec – 31 Dec).
Does the way the plot faces change the month?
In Shripati's rule, quoted in Muhurta Chintamani, it does: a house facing east or west is begun with the Sun in Kumbha and Phalguna, Karka or Simha and Shravana, or Makara and Pausha; one facing north or south with the Sun in Mesha or Vrishabha and Vaishakha, or Tula or Vrishchika and Margashirsha. The strict view here keeps all five pairs; the personal muhurat keeps the ones for your plot.
Can bhoomi pujan be done in Kharmas or Chaturmas?
Not in Kharmas: Narada leaves the Sun in Dhanu and Meena out for starting a house, so both views here close those months. Chaturmas is not a rule for building in the books these lists follow; many families wait for Dev Uthani Ekadashi by custom.
Why do some lists give other months for bhoomi pujan?
The books do not all give the same months. Narada and Shripati, as Muhurta Chintamani quotes them, give the months these lists use; B.V. Raman gives Chaitra, Vaishakha, Shravana, Kartika and Magha, and rejects Margashirsha, Pausha and Phalguna. The personal muhurat lets your family choose either school.
Are these bhoomi pujan dates the same for my city?
Mostly, but not to the minute. A nakshatra or tithi changes at the same moment everywhere, while sunrise, sunset and Rahu Kalam are local, so another city's windows start and end a few minutes apart, and a day can drop out or come in where a change falls near a window's edge. The strict view also reads some rules by region: the rest of Simhastha, Makara Guru and Holashtak. The muhurat finder computes both views for your city.
