AI Nadi Astrology Readings
Nadi astrology predicts events from the company planets keep, not from houses — Venus with Mars for attraction and marriage, the Sun with Saturn for a father's hardship. ProxaAI computes the Bhrigu Nandi combinations in your kundli as R.G. Rao teaches them, valid even without a birth time, times them by Jupiter's progression through the signs, and reads them in a labelled paragraph.
What Is Nadi Astrology?
Nadi (literally "pulse") astrology is a family of South Indian methods. The most systematised is Bhrigu Nandi Nadi, popularised by R.G. Rao, which reads the chart by the karakatwa — the natural significations — of planets: take the karaka of a matter and look at its sign, the lord of that sign, the planets with it, ahead of it (the second), behind it (the twelfth) and opposite it (the seventh). A friend there supports the matter and an enemy hinders it. Jupiter is the native (the jeeva) for men and women alike; Venus is marriage, Mars the husband in a woman's chart, Saturn karma and profession, Mercury education. A retrograde planet also gives the results of the previous sign. Events are timed by an age count: Jupiter advances one sign for every year of life from its birth sign, Saturn about one sign every two and a half years. Because none of this needs the ascendant, Nadi reads fully from a date alone.
What ProxaAI Computes
The Nadi facts are derived from the sidereal positions of your kundli — sign-based, so a birth time is not required:
- Every sign conjunction — the planets, nodes included, that share a sign.
- The neighbourhood of Jupiter, Saturn, Venus, Mars and Mercury: the planets with each, ahead of it, behind it and opposite it, the lord of its sign, and the trines that later teachers add.
- Retrograde planets with the planets of the previous sign they also join, and sign exchanges.
- The progression: the sign Jupiter has reached in your current year of life and the twelve years ahead, Saturn's two-and-a-half-year steps, and which natal planets each step meets — with the spouse karaka marked.
- Evaluable Bhrigu Nandi combinations in the knowledge base — Venus–Mars, Sun–Saturn, Rahu–Jupiter, Jupiter–Saturn, Jupiter with a friend or hindered by an enemy, Mercury with Mars, Saturn without support, Rahu with a planet, retrograde Jupiter — that fire only when the chart forms them.
How the Reading Uses Nadi
Add Nadi to your kundli and the astrologer specialist receives a NADI FACTS block and a NADI TIMING block and writes a paragraph under that name: which combinations are present, what events they classically indicate, and in which year of life the progressed Jupiter (or Saturn, for work) reaches them. Nadi dates come only from those years — never narrower. The Parashari reading of your kundli runs beside it and the synthesis keeps the schools distinct, as the methodology page describes.
Why Nadi Matters Without a Birth Time
Many people know their birth date but not their time. Parashari astrology then loses the lagna, the houses and the navamsha; Lal Kitab loses everything; KP cannot be cast. Nadi keeps most of its method, because sign conjunctions and the count from Jupiter do not move over a day — only the Moon can change sign. ProxaAI flags a Moon near a sign boundary and otherwise reads the Nadi combinations with full confidence, which makes Nadi the best-value school to add to a time-unknown kundli.
Nadi Beside the Other Indian Schools
Nadi is one of four Indian schools you can add, with Jaimini, Lal Kitab and KP. Each adds a labelled paragraph to the reading; the consensus weights them by the domain of your question, and no school is cited unless its facts block was present.
Nadi Astrology — Frequently Asked Questions
- Is this the palm-leaf Nadi reading?
- No. Palm-leaf (Agastya, Shiva) Nadi is a matching of thumb impressions to manuscripts and is not a computation. ProxaAI implements Bhrigu Nandi Nadi, the computable school that reads planetary combinations.
- Do I need a birth time for Nadi?
- No. Sign conjunctions, the neighbourhoods, retrogrades, exchanges and the Jupiter progression are all sign- and date-based. Only a planet that changes sign during the birth day — usually the Moon — is flagged as uncertain.
- What does "Jupiter is the native" mean?
- In R.G. Rao's Bhrigu Nandi Nadi the native's life is read from Jupiter (the jeeva), in a woman's chart too: the planets with it, ahead of it, behind it and opposite it describe the person's path, and Jupiter's progression — one sign for each year of life — times the events. Venus and Mars describe the marriage and the spouse.
- Which combinations does the engine check?
- Ten combinations today — Venus–Mars, Sun–Saturn, Jupiter–Saturn, Mercury with Mars and Saturn without support among them — each an evaluable rule in the knowledge base. The reading cites only the ones that actually fire in your chart.
- How do Nadi and Parashari readings coexist?
- As separate labelled paragraphs. The synthesis weights them by the question's domain and says explicitly where the schools agree or differ.
