Vivah Muhurat 2026: November and December Dates

From 1 November to 31 December 2026, New Delhi has 11 days with a wedding muhurat in the calendar view — the rules as many published calendars apply them — and none in the strict view of the books. Jupiter is in Leo (Simhastha Guru) from 31 Oct 2026, 12:02 to 25 Jan 2027, 01:31 IST, and the books rule out weddings while it lasts. The strict view's next day is 27 January 2027.

Computed for New Delhi (28.61° N, 77.21° E) in IST with the Swiss Ephemeris and the Lahiri ayanamsa, for no particular person. Other cities differ by minutes. The calendar view was checked against a published almanac's wedding lists: all of 2026 at Gurgaon, November 2026 to February 2027 at Mumbai, Kolkata and Gurgaon, and all of 2027 at New Delhi. Where the two differ, a named rule explains it (below).

All 11 dates in November and December 2026 at a glance

The calendar view's dates month by month, and what the strict view does with them. The cards below give the times.

  • November: 21, 24, 25 and 26 (4 days); the strict view keeps none
  • December: 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 11 and 12 (7 days); the strict view keeps none

The calendar view ranks 1 day in this range "Very good", here with the star of the best window: Friday 11 Dec (Uttara Ashadha). Your own stars can still make it weak for you (below).

On a Saturday or Sunday: 21 November; 5, 6 and 12 December — 4 of the 11 days.

Two views, two lists

Published calendars and the books do not agree on every rule, so this page gives two lists. The calendar view follows the rules as many printed panchangs apply them. The strict view starts from the same windows and also applies Simhastha and Makara Guru (by region), the 7 days on either side of Venus' or Jupiter's combustion, no Tuesday wedding, 16 ghatis (6 h 24 min) on either side of each sankranti and Holashtak in the regions where Muhurta Chintamani keeps it. A strict window always lies inside a calendar window, so the strict list is a shorter version of the same list, never a different one.

The biggest difference is Simhastha Guru, Jupiter in Leo. Jupiter is in Magha or the first pada of Purva Phalguni from 31 Oct 2026, 12:02 to 25 Jan 2027, 01:31 IST, which the books rule out in every region. The Simhastha Guru guide explains the rule, its regions and its sources, and Kharmas 2026–27 covers the two months of the Sun in Dhanu and Meena.

Which list to follow is a family matter. If your family keeps the books strictly, use the strict view; if it goes by the printed panchang, use the calendar view. Why muhurat dates differ lists the other reasons two calendars disagree.

Where this calendar view and the checked almanac differ, a rule explains it. It judges a combustion by the planet's visibility and leaves out about three more days on either side of it, so near a combustion the two lists can differ by several days either way; this calendar view uses Surya Siddhanta's orbs without extra days, and the strict view leaves out seven. That almanac also keeps the rikta tithis and, once Chaturmas ends, the Sun in Tula; this list leaves both out with Muhurta Chintamani, whose wedding season is six signs of the Sun, not Tula. Like that almanac, this list leaves out the whole day on which the Sun enters or leaves those six signs; the strict view also closes 16 ghatis on either side of every sankranti.

Wedding muhurat dates in November and December 2026, month by month

Each date shows its muhurat windows in IST for New Delhi, the nakshatra and tithi in them, and a strength word. A card says when the strict view shortens or closes the day; where it says nothing, both views agree. Choose a view to see one list at a time.

Every listed day passes the rules. "Very good", "Good" and "Usable" are a rough order from classical factors (such as the star, the weekday, the bright half) — not a probability or a promise.

Closed periods for weddings in 2026

These stretches rule out weddings at New Delhi, computed from the ephemeris to the minute (IST). "Both views" means every list on this page leaves them out; "Strict view" means only the strict list does. A period that began before this range is shown from its real start.

  1. Chaturmas Both views

    24 Jul 2026, 09:13 – 21 Nov 2026, 06:31

From Devshayani Ekadashi to Dev Uthani Ekadashi (Ashadha Shukla Ekadashi to Kartika Shukla Ekadashi): no wedding in either view (Vivaha prakarana).

  2. The Sun in Tula (Libra) Both views

    17 Oct 2026, 19:51 – 16 Nov 2026, 19:43

Outside the wedding season of Muhurta Chintamani's Vivaha prakarana: both views rule out weddings.

  3. Venus newly risen (balya) Strict view

    29 Oct 2026, 09:39 – 5 Nov 2026, 09:39

The 7 days after the planet rises again (balya — Dharma Sindhu's middle view): the strict view only.

  4. Simhastha Guru: Jupiter in Magha or the first pada of Purva Phalguni Strict view

    31 Oct 2026, 12:02 – 25 Jan 2027, 01:31

Jupiter in Magha or the first pada of Purva Phalguni: the strict view rules out weddings in every region, except while the Sun is in Mesha (Muhurta Chintamani, Shubhashubha prakarana, with Dharma Sindhu).

  5. Kharmas (the Sun in Dhanu) Both views

    16 Dec 2026, 10:25 – 14 Jan 2027, 21:10

The Sun in Dhanu (Sagittarius) is outside the wedding season (Muhurta Chintamani, Vivaha prakarana), so both views rule it out.

The sankranti hours (strict view)

The strict view avoids 16 ghatis (6 h 24 min) on either side of the moment the Sun enters a sign (B.V. Raman, Muhurtha; Kalaprakasika's 30 ghatis are not applied). The sankrantis of this range at New Delhi, in IST:

  • Vrishchika (Scorpio): the Sun enters at 16 Nov 2026, 19:43; avoided 16 Nov 2026, 13:19 – 17 Nov 2026, 02:07
  • Dhanu (Sagittarius): the Sun enters at 16 Dec 2026, 10:25; avoided 16 Dec 2026, 04:01–16:49

How these dates are chosen

  • The 11 days on this page follow the rules of the full Vivah Muhurat 2027 list, which sets out each rule with its source: how the 2027 wedding dates are chosen.
  • In November and December 2026 at New Delhi, the windows fall in Rohini (2 days), Mrigashira (2 days), Uttara Phalguni (2 days), Hasta (2 days), Swati (2 days), Uttara Ashadha (2 days) and Revati (1 day).
  • In short, for a wedding: one of the eleven wedding stars, the Sun in a sign of the wedding season, and no Chaturmas, adhika month or combustion (Muhurta Chintamani, Vivaha prakarana); no rikta tithi and no Amavasya; no Bhadra; no inauspicious yoga; the gandanta quarters and Rahu Kalam, Yamaganda and Gulika cut out; and at least one ghati (24 minutes) left.

What the strict view adds

  • For weddings, the strict view adds Simhastha and Makara Guru (by region), the 7 days on either side of Venus' or Jupiter's combustion, no Tuesday wedding, 16 ghatis (6 h 24 min) on either side of each sankranti and Holashtak in the regions where Muhurta Chintamani keeps it (the books: Muhurta Chintamani and Dharma Sindhu; the sankranti hours: B.V. Raman, Muhurtha) — each set out on the Vivah Muhurat 2027 page.

What these lists leave to you

  • For weddings, these lists leave to you the lagna, your own Tara Bala and Chandra Bala, eclipse days and the other finer rules, and your family's customs; the Vivah Muhurat 2027 page lists them.

For your city or your own dates

A nakshatra or tithi changes at the same moment everywhere, but each place has its own sunrise, sunset and Rahu Kalam, so another city's windows start and end a few minutes apart, and a day near a change can drop out or come in. The muhurat finder computes both views of the wedding list for your city and your own dates, up to three months at a time. Start from a month:

A personal check with your own birth star

A list for everyone cannot check your own stars. Muhurta Chintamani's Gochara prakarana adds two personal checks: Tara Bala, the day's nakshatra counted from your birth nakshatra, and Chandra Bala, the Moon's sign counted from your birth Moon sign. A day that is good in general can be weak for you.

Ask the AI astrologer about a date from this list. It computes both checks from your kundli, reads the day's windows for the place saved in your kundli and names the rule behind its answer. For a wedding it checks your side; the partner's birth details are a separate question.

Check a date against your own kundli

Type the date and the event. Sign in on the next screen and add your birth details once — the question will be waiting in your chat.

Questions people ask

How many wedding muhurat days are there in November and December 2026?
At New Delhi, 11 days in the calendar view and none in the strict view. Each date on this page shows its windows in IST.
When does the wedding season start after Dev Uthani 2026?
Chaturmas ends with Dev Uthani Ekadashi (Kartika Shukla Ekadashi), on 20 Nov; its tithi ends at 21 Nov 2026, 06:31 IST. The calendar view's first wedding day is Saturday, 21 November 2026 and its last is Saturday, 12 December 2026; the Sun enters Dhanu (Kharmas) at 16 Dec 2026, 10:25 IST.
Are there wedding muhurats during Simhastha Guru 2026?
In the calendar view, yes: many published calendars do not apply the rule. In the strict view, no. Jupiter is in Magha or the first pada of Purva Phalguni from 31 Oct 2026, 12:02 to 25 Jan 2027, 01:31 IST, which the books rule out in every region. The strict view's first wedding day after that is Wednesday, 27 January 2027.
Is a wedding on a Tuesday allowed?
The strict view leaves Tuesdays out: Vasishtha, quoted in Muhurta Chintamani's Vivaha prakarana, and B.V. Raman avoid them. Many published calendars do not, so 1 day of the calendar view in November and December 2026 is a Tuesday.
Are these wedding dates the same for my city?
Mostly, but not to the minute. A nakshatra or tithi changes at the same moment everywhere, while sunrise, sunset and Rahu Kalam are local, so another city's windows start and end a few minutes apart, and a day can drop out or come in where a change falls near a window's edge. The strict view also reads some rules by region: the rest of Simhastha, Makara Guru and Holashtak. The muhurat finder computes both views for your city.
Does a listed date suit every couple?
No list can say that: it checks the day, not the two of you. The priest fixes the lagna inside the window, and each partner's Tara Bala and Chandra Bala depend on their own birth star and Moon sign. Ask the AI astrologer about a date to check it against your kundli.
