Hamsa Yoga is the Jupiter member of the Pancha Mahapurusha set, described in Brihat Parashara Hora Shastra and given its fullest portrait in Phaladeepika. The name means 'swan', and the classical descriptions dwell on purity — a native of righteous conduct, respected for judgement, drawn to religious or philosophical life, with a fair complexion and pleasant proportions in the older physical descriptions. The swan's traditional attribute of separating milk from water is the interpretive key: Hamsa's gift is discrimination, the ability to tell the genuine from the counterfeit in people and in ideas.

What Makes Hamsa Yoga Strong or Weak

Jupiter must sit in Cancer, Sagittarius or Pisces and be in a kendra. Cancer exaltation gives the strongest result, particularly in the 1st or 10th.
