Saturn changes sign roughly every two and a half years, and each change redraws the Sade Sati map for a quarter of the zodiac at once. The next change is the one people are already searching for: Saturn's move from sidereal Pisces into Aries in 2027. This post gives the calendar, the four groups it touches, and what each of them should do with the year before it.
If Sade Sati itself is new to you, read the full guide to Saturn's Sade Sati first — the three phases, why the middle one is heaviest and why it is not simply a curse. This post assumes that and deals only with 2027.
What Moves in 2027
By the Lahiri ayanamsa used across most of India, Saturn entered Pisces (Meena) on 29 March 2025. It leaves for Aries (Mesha) in early June 2027, then does what Saturn often does at a sign boundary: it turns retrograde and slips back into the last degrees of Pisces from roughly late October 2027 to late February 2028, before re-entering Aries for good and staying there into 2030.
That retrograde return matters for the calendar below. The clean way to read it is that the new arrangement begins in June 2027, pauses for about four months, and resumes in February 2028. Nobody's phase is undone by the pause; it is a closing echo for the signs Saturn is leaving and a false start for the signs it is entering.
The Four Groups
Sade Sati is counted from the Moon sign, not the Sun sign. Find your Moon sign in a free kundli if you are not sure — a Western "star sign" is the wrong input here.
Taurus (Vrishabha) — enters Sade Sati. Saturn in Aries is the twelfth sign from Taurus, which is the first phase: the rising phase. It is felt as expenses that do not quite make sense, a thinning of the circle, endings that clear the ground, and a sense that effort is running ahead of results. It is the phase in which to reduce commitments, clear debt and finish what is unfinished, because the middle phase, from late 2029, is the one that tests the structure you built.
Aries (Mesha) — moves to the peak. Aries has been in the first phase since March 2025. From June 2027 Saturn sits on the Aries Moon itself, the second and heaviest phase. The classical themes are health, the body's limits, the reorganisation of home and work, and responsibility that arrives before recognition does. It rewards routine and punishes shortcuts; it is not the period for a leveraged bet.
Pisces (Meena) — moves to the last phase. Pisces has carried the peak since 2025. From June 2027 Saturn moves to the second sign from the Pisces Moon: the setting-in-order phase, usually the most manageable of the three, in which finances, speech and family arrangements get their final shape. The retrograde return in late 2027 briefly puts Saturn back on the Moon — a last revision rather than a repeat of the peak.
Aquarius (Kumbha) — exits. Aquarius has been in the final phase since March 2025 and comes out when Saturn leaves Pisces in June 2027. The retrograde return between late October 2027 and late February 2028 reopens the door for a few months; read it as the last of the same lesson, not a new one. From spring 2028 Aquarius is clear of Sade Sati until Saturn reaches Capricorn again, which is a long way off.
